Borne along by nothing other than the wind, an experienced paraglider pilot can remain aloft for hours on end, flying great distances and discovering a vantage point on the world shared only with the birds.
Active Edge Airsports is a British Hang Gliding, and Paragliding Association (BHPA) registered school based in the Yorkshire Dales, England since 1991. It's run by Jordan Whittaker and Dean Crosby. Dean is one of the most experienced BHPA Senior Paragliding Instructors and multiple British Paragliding Champion pilot. He's the only pilot in the UK to compete at the National level in all three soaring disciplines, Paragliding, hang gliding and gliding. Jordan, having a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, worked in the industry for a handful of years before pursuing paragliding full time. He very quickly became a multiple award winning pilot for his cross country flying. He's passionate about teaching others to fly, and gets out to fly himself whenever he can.
We're both fanatical about flying and have taught paragliding, hang gliding, and flying from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales for over 36 years.
As well as Fundays, we offer various exclusive BHPA-approved courses for those who want to learn to paraglide and fly 'solo' to the highest standards in the Yorkshire Dales and overseas.

We only work with small groups limited to 6 students and pride ourselves on personal service.
Small group sizes and our instructors' expertise ensure you progress quickly and get the most out of your new sport.
All the equipment is supplied within your course fee (no hidden costs).
We teach our EPC and CPC courses every day midweek, as well as the occasional Sunday (weather dependent). These days can be spread out to suit individual needs. The first day and Fundays are usually held on a Saturday. Once you've completed the first day, you can book multiple days any day apart from Saturdays. There is an element of commitment needed from the student if they wish to succeed in this sport. Many qualified pilots end up altering lifestyles in order to stay current, and therefore safe as well as the fact it becomes absolutely addicting! Watch out!
